Sigmund Gestetner philanthropist and for many years leader of the Jewish National fund in Britain, died in Nice, France this week-end. He as also active in the directorate of the Joint Palestine Appeal in this country. He was 58.

Mr. Gestetner was the founder of the world-famed commercial firm which bears his name. He was born in London and entered communal life as a young man. He was early identified with the Zionist cause, being most influenced by his father, David Gestetner, and by Dr. Chaim Weizmann.
