More than 500 delegates attending the 28th annual convention of Agudas Israel, which opened here today, heard a message from President Truman calling for a “rekindling of the religious spirit” in the world. The President’s message called further for a “renewed appreciation of the ethical values set forth by the Prophets of old.”
Dr. David Ochs, Agudah leader of Canada, told the convention–which will continue through Sunday–that “religious Jews throughout the world are united in the demand that all immigrant children in Israel be reared in Orthodox Jewish tradition.”
