Judge Simon H. Rifkind, adviser on Jewish Affairs to the Commanding General of U.S. Forces in Europe, arrived here today. Judge Rifkind, who will start tomorrow on a three-day tour of Palestine, visited the Jewish Agency, where he discussed a number of Jewish issues with various leaders.
Meeting in an extraordinary session, the Tel Aviv municipal council today protested the suspension of Jewish immigration into Palestine. “The Jewish nation and the Yishuv” consider the action of the British Government in seeking Arab consent to immigration a violation of the Balfour Declaration and the Palestine Mandate, the council said.
