Six-hundred thousand of Hungary’s 900,000 Jews were killed during the German occupation of the country, according to a statement by an attache of the Swedish legation in Budapest published in Steckholm newspapers. Not all Jews were sent to Germany to die, he said, reparting that it was a common sight to see Jews undressed on the embankments of the Danube, shot and thrown into the river.
