The semi official newspaper Kurjer Poranny demanded today confiscation of property held in Poland by German citizens in retaliation for seizure of Polish Jewish property in Germany.
Pointing out that the wealth of Germans in Poland far exceeds that of Polish Jewish residents of Germany the newspaper urged establishment of a “clearing tribunal” to ascertain the exact amount of loss suffered by Polish citizens so that they may be compensated by confiscation of a like amount of German property to be registered with the tribunal throughout Poland.
“We will not allow Polish citizens “the newspaper concluded “to become the victims of legal robbery. Fiat justitia ruat caelum (Let justice be done though the heavens fall).
