An order issued last night by the Ministry of Interior provides that every German Jew above the age of three months must possess an identification card bearing his photograph and fingerprints. These cards will be distributed by district police stations before Dec. 31. Jewish children born after Oct. I will be provided with cards at the age of three months. The cards must be shown on demand of any official agency, and also when appearing at government and nazi party offices to transact business. Possession of the cards is compulsory for all Jews and “Aryans of military age, but voluntary for other “Aryans.”
