The famous Midrash Beth Zakkah Yeshiva (rabbinical seminary) was completely destroyed by fire yesterday with an estimated property less of $200,000.

Five rabbis studying in the building, trapped by the flames, were rescued and the Holy Scrolls of the Law were saved, but the yeshiva’s library, containing works of great literary and historical value, was destroyed.

Humans, author of the Hebrew volume, “Zivkhei Tzedek” (Offerings of Righteousness). It provided rabbis for Iraq, Iran (Persia), Kurdistan and Afghanistan for generations and was an important cultural influence among the Jews throughout the Near East.
