Harry Herbert Trusted, Attorney General since 1932, was today appointed Chief Justice of Palestine to succeed Sir Michael F.J. McDonnell, who has retired on a pension. Sir Michael, who had held the post since 1927, had been under fire for alleged leniency toward Arab rebels seized during the disorders.
W.J.Fitzgerald, former Attorney General of Northern Rhodesia, was named to the post vacated by Mr. Trusted.
