Another death indirectly traceable to the financial difficulties of the Phoenix Insurance Co. occurred Sunday when Gustav Spiegler, a director, succumbed to kidney trouble aggravated by worry over the company’s crisis. Mr. Spiegler, who was fifty-one years old, was president of the Austrian Maccabi Association, Jewish sports organization.
Meanwhile, three directors of the Vienna Kompass Bank, which suspended payments following discovery of the Phoenix difficulties, were arrested for alleged violation of currency regulations. They are Dr. Prager, Dr. Saphier, secretary of the board, and Dr. Graf.
