Rachel Luria, Yiddish short story writer, a member of the staff of the “Jewish Morning Journal” for the past twelve years, died on Friday at her home, 31 West 120th Street, New York. She was 47 years old.
Rachel Luria was born in Worzhan. Lithuania, and came to the United States at the age of twelve. She worked in clothing shops and as a nurse. She published her first short story. “White Lilies” in 1909. The subjects she treated were love and family life.
Miss Luria was a member of the Jewish Writers’ Club, which arranged the funeral.
